Steam and iOS users have already generated several thousand levels, which will be ready to go when the Wii U version launches. Custom levels can be shared privately or publicly, and Cubemen 2 is the first game that will allow both cross-platform multiplayer as well as cross-platform sharing of level designs. Seeing the tiny voxel characters walking around and blowing stuff up reminded me of the classic game Lemmings.Ĭubemen 2 features a full level editor, as well as a theme editor, which allows you to skin the cubes to give them some character. The modes are fully customizable, and each mode requires different types of strategy. Up to six players can play online, or AI can take over the teams. The game features a number of modes, including basic tower defense-style play, capture the flag, and a mode where you try to capture the most territory. The basic gameplay involves choosing which units to send out where and what actions they should take to attack or defend against other teams. There are a huge numbers of options and modes. Cubemen 2 is a bit of a sandbox, so I imagine you’ll get out what you put into it. Cubemen 2 is a real-time strategy game that keeps the presentation simple, but provides nearly endless complexity of gameplay. Ĭubemen is probably not for the average player, but if you like a bit of strategy, you should try it out. This is, for me, a way to keep coming back to get it all. There are leaderboards which keep tracks of your score and you also are awarded with medals and archivements. You can play all against all, or play as team against teams. Multiplayer mode with up to 6 players, crossplatform (limited to 4 on the iPad). So you have to give it a bit more thought. As with most tower defence games, you are tasked with defending your base from the waves of enemy attackers eager to end your existence. Cubemen is another in a long line of Tower Defence games. While your troops can be placed on every square in Defense-mode, you are limited to where they can be placed in this mode. Mike – is a medic, fixes your other soldiers healthĭefense.Fred – shoot ice particels with an ice gun.They will shoot, flame and destroy your opponent. If it’s not a good place, tap again to move to another place. You deploy your soldiers by tapping on the the squares on the gameboard. They will unlock during the gameplay on the levels which you can buy with your blocks. You have eight different soldiers at your disposal, but not all at once.
